Introduction to the Chosen Technology

In NURS FPX 4045 Assessment 3, we will highlight that Telehealth videoconferencing has become a paradigm changing force in contemporary nursing, providing increased access to the care, better clinical results, and increased patient safety. The rate at which it is being adopted has increased with the need to have remote care especially in the rural and underserved populations where there is minimal access to in-person services. With the elimination of geographical distances, videoconferencing can be used to provide prompt medical intervention and to facilitate the model of patient-based care in technology in nursing.

The other differences this technology has are that it enables real-time patient and professional communication to enhance continuity of care, and to help prevent unnecessary hospital readmissions.
